Your privacy is important to us

Swype Global Ltd (SGL) is committed to the privacy and confidentiality of the information provided to it. We are committed to the informed collection of personal information for legitimate and lawful purposes and use. SGL commits to processing data lawfully, fairly, in a transparent manner and in accordance with the relevant data protection regulations. Personal information collected will be processed based on the consent provided, for the performance of a contract or to enter into the contract or in relation to the intended use, and in furtherance of SGL’s legitimate business interest or in compliance with a mandatory legal obligation. SGL may share personal information with partners or agents involved in the delivery and optimization of its products, services, and business operations. SGL may also share personal information in good faith and with the belief that such action is necessary to conform with a legal obligation or to defend SGL’s rights. To ensure that personal data is not kept for longer than necessary, SGL shall put in place a policy on data retention, archiving and destruction for each location in which personal data is processed. SGL is committed to implementing data security measures appropriate to the degree of sensitivity of the personal data to protect against malicious intrusion, loss, alteration or disclosure to non-authorized third parties, for the purpose of securing personal information. In the event that despite the security measures we implement to protect information it is accessed by unauthorized third parties, SGL shall report the breach to the relevant agency as appropriate. SGL reserves the right to vary the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time. Such variations shall become effective immediately upon publication of the revised Privacy Policy. This Privacy and Data Protection Policy shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the shall have exclusive jurisdiction on all matters related thereto.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to allow us to provide our software and related services to you in a manner that ensures reliability, credibility and security. We will use the information you supply to us to: Verify your identity and authenticate your contact details where required; Protect your account from unauthorised access; Reply to your enquiry by post, email, or telephone; Maintain our records;  Provide access and services to you; Send you information on our other services; Look at the services and features you and other clients use; and Create anonymised reports for our internal and external business use and for reporting purposes.

Purpose and legal basis

We provide a software-based service via a digital platform to you as part of our limited company mandate in the UK. Where you have requested a service, we use your personal information to provide you with that service.

What if you do not wish to provide your personal information?

We process your personal information to provide access and functionality of our software relevant to you the individual. Without this information we will not be able to provide our software functions to you and others in an authentic and credible manner. If you do not wish to provide us with your personal information, this will prevent or limit our ability to provide these services to you.

Communications

Where we have your consent to do so, we will send you information and updates about Swype Global services. These updates may include information on events that we are holding and information about other services that are available to you from our partners. If you decide that you no longer wish to receive these messages, then you can opt out of future communications by contacting us. We will still communicate with you for other purposes in the ordinary course of any other relationship we have with you.

Who do we share your information with?

We will generally comply with requests for specific information from regulatory and law enforcement bodies where this is necessary and appropriate. We also share your personal information with our software delivery partners to enable them to assist in the delivery of the software and its functionalities. These partners include: Amazon Web Services – for cloud storage and retrieval purposes only; Other Retail Vendors and Service Providers – only where you have opted to use our Swypa Club feature; Other App Users – we will show other users limited non-identifying data about age, gender, marital status, hobbies and profession, only where you have opted to use our Swypa Connect feature.

Your data will be held in a User Record Management (URM) Database operated by Amazon Web Services.

The purpose of the User Records Management System

Personal and non-personal data will be used to help develop processes and interventions that improve and support our ability to provide you and other users with the best experience. These include: consistent, clear and co-ordinated engagement with our customers on products, services and communications that they are interested in; better design of products, services and support across the range of current and future offerings from Swype Global Ltd; collaborate with partners on the design of future services and interventions as a result of insights gained from a shared system, aggregated data and better understanding of what support Customers are seeking and receiving in real time.

Where we may collect personal data from

How long do we keep your information for?

We only keep your personal information for the minimum period amount of time necessary. Sometimes this time period is set out in the law, but in most cases it is based on the business need. We are currently reviewing our data retention policies. In the coming months, we will add further detail to this Privacy Notice, setting out further information about our practices.

Where your information may be held internationally

The personal information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and processed, at a destination outside the European Economic Area. Where this is the case, we ensure that the organisation processing the data provides an adequate level of protection for your rights, and complies with the conditions of data protection law set out in the General Data Protection Regulation.

Our website may use cookies to help you navigate, provide feedback, and analyse your use of our products and services. This is necessary for us to deliver services to you as part of our performance of a task in the stated business interest.

Your rights under data protection law:

Access to your information – you have the right to request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you.

Correcting your information – we want to make sure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date. You may ask us to correct any personal information about you that you believe does not meet these standards.

Deletion of your information – you have the right to ask us to delete personal information about you where:

I. you think that we no longer need to hold the information for the purposes for which it was originally obtained

III. you have a genuine objection to our use of your personal information – see Objecting to how we may use your information below

IV. our use of your personal information is contrary to law or our other legal obligations.

Objecting to how we may use your information – You have the right at any time to tell us to stop using your personal information for direct marketing purposes. In addition, where we use your personal information to perform tasks carried out in the business interest or pursuant to the legitimate interests of us or a third party then, if you ask us to, we will stop using that personal information unless there are overriding legitimate grounds to continue.

Restricting how we may use your information – in some cases, you may ask us to restrict how we use your personal information. This right might apply, for example, where we are checking the accuracy of personal information that we hold about you or we are assessing the objection you have made to our use of your information. This right might also apply if we no longer have a basis for using your personal information but you don’t want us to delete the data. Where this right is realistically applied will mean that we may only use the relevant personal information with your consent, for legal claims or where there are other public interest grounds to do so.

Withdrawing consent to use your information – Where we use your personal information with your consent you may withdraw that consent at any time and we will stop using your personal information for the purpose(s) for which consent was given.
